The creative economy is one of the most rapidly growing sectors of the world economy and a highly transformative one in terms of income generation, job creation and export earnings. But this is not all there is to it. For unlocking the potential of the creative economy also means promoting the overall creativity of societies, affirming the distinctive identity of the places where it flourishes and clusters, improving the quality of life there, enhancing local image and prestige and strengthening the resources for the imagining of diverse new futures.
Its international dimension gives the cinema the power to cross borders while it has a fundamental role in terms of freedom of expression, cultural diversity, economic development, peace and social cohesion so dear to UNESCO. It is thus quite natural that UNESCO has chosen the internationally renowned Cannes Film Festival to host a Dinner in order to promote Cultural Diversity.
Created to respond to a humanitarian impulse coming from a society in need of Authenticity and Truth, the Better World Forum aims to be the Voice and Image of tomorrow´s world. Through a series of actions in different countries it defends, promotes and supports all these actors of the shadow, working on behalf of Culture, Education, Preservation of the Environment and of Expansion of Compassion worldwide.
For the first time, UNESCO & Better World Forum are hosting a Unique Dinner that will bring together both Ambassadors of Peace & Art. The Dinner will be held on Wednesday May 18 and promise to enjoy a truly unforgettable moment. Over 200 renowned guests will be attending from movie directors, actors and producers to special guests from UNESCO.

As the host of the Event, Sharon Stone will honor this dinner by her presence, showing once more her implication & strong commitment when it comes to defend any noble cause. Another prestigious guest among many: Forest Whitaker, founder of Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative.
