USPA NEWS - Audrey Azoulay, Minister of Culture and Communication, announces the sixth edition of the Festival of art history, from 3 to 5 June 2016 at the castle and in the city of Fontainebleau. Unique in Europe, this festival is an event that brings together experts in art history worldwide.

THE ART AND HISTORY FESTIVAL IS UNIQUE IN EUROPE AND AN EVENT FOR EXPERTS----------------------------It is a unique in Europe, this festival is an event that brings together experts in art history worldwide. It brought together more than 34 000 visitors in 2015. Designed as a crossroads and public knowledge, this meeting is open to all and offers free three-day conferences, debates, concerts, exhibitions, screenings, lectures and meetings at Fontainebleau . Programming in 2016, with over 300 events will be organized around three major events: "Laughter" theme of the festival 6th edition. The Festival program will focus on the cultural practices of laughter and specificities of visual comedy. Will address the iconography of laughing, the tradition of caricature, laughter Dada or press cartoons and his use of laughter. SPAIN IS THE COUNTRY GUEST THIS YEAR------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Miquel Barceló, artist sponsor of the event, will deliver the conference inaugurale "Spain, earth artistic genius was born" El Greco, Velasquez, Goya, or Picasso or Pedro Almodovar. But it is also a haven for many European artists and has managed to print his artistic mark on the continent. Spain is constantly carries a tension between centers and peripheries, both in the Spanish peninsula in its report to the New World. The forum will address the current exhibitions and museums, the art market, research, education, but also the great heritage issues, such as the theft of works of art or protection heritage in armed conflict.--------------- THE PROGRAM OF 2016 EDITION INCLUDES A OOK FAIR AND ART MAGAZINE------------------------------------------ The 6the edition of the festival of history is programming in 2016: - A book fair and art magazine, - A movie in "Art & Camera" - A Spring University, dedicated to arts education in schools and organized in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE FESTIVAL IS ALSO A TOUR PROGRAMMING TO YOUTH AND FAMILIES WITH : - Guided tours and presentations of works from the Louvre school students and Paris IV - Concert of students of the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris - A "Marathon of laughter" proposed by the French Comedy, the new partner of the Festival - An original artistic and cultural education project, dubbed "Little court theater", the result of a year's work of 15 classes. The festival organization is under the direction of a steering committee which brings together senior management of heritage Ministry of Culture and Communication, the National Institute of History of Art and the Palace of Fontainebleau. Its programming is provided by a scientific committee chaired by Pierre Rosenberg and moderated by Annick Lemoine (Scientific Director of the festival, Institut national d'histoire de l'art).
