USPA NEWS - Qatar Rail and Alstom unveiled the design of the Lusail Citadis tramway that will run on the 4 lines of the tram network.
The design of the Lusail light rail, the front face is like the bow of a ship, inspired by Dhows, typical ships in the region.

Qatar Rail and Alstom unveiled the design of the Lusail Citadis tramway that will run on the 4 lines of the tram network. The design of the Lusail light rail, the front face is like the bow of a ship, inspired by Dhows, typical ships in the region. Blue tones of the tram also evoke the sea, inviting travelers to embark on board for a refreshing break away from the heat of Qatar. The interior design includes architectural elements of the area, with touches of yellow flower reminiscent of Lusail. The contract includes engineering, construction, testing and commissioning of 4 tram lines, which will span 38 km (including 10 km underground) and include 30 stations. Alstom Citadis trams also provides the power equipment (substations, catenary and APS), signaling and track (2).

THE LUSAIL CITADIS TRAMWAY IS A ELCTRIC HIGH-TECH TRAIN----------------------------------------------------------- Citadis tramway Lusail measuring 33 meters long by one unit (3) and can accommodate 207 passengers in "standard" class and "family." It can be coupled so as to double its capacity. The tram is equipped with the latest technologies, such as permanent magnet motors that reduce energy consumption. The tram Lusail will be powered by APS (4) (a technology proven for 12 years that allows catenary-free operation) on all lines of the same level. The solution, which works in harsh weather conditions without loss of performance, preserves the aesthetics of city centers.--------------------------------------------- With over 17 integrated solutions tram project, Alstom is the world leader in this field.
