Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina (R) announces White House bid

USPA News - Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, a Republican, announced Monday that she is running for the White House in 2016, telling ABC News that she believes she is the best person for the job, citing her decision-making experience in business and her knowledge of technology. Polls so far suggest that Fiorina, who has never held elected office, is unlikely to succeed in her bid for the presidency.

"Our nation was intended to be a citizen government, and somehow we`ve come to this place in our nation`s history where we think we need a professional political class. I don`t believe that," she told ABC News when asked about her experience. In a short video on her campaign website, www.carlyforpresident.com, Fiorina said it is time to empower citizens and to give them a voice in government. When asked by ABC News about her previous comments on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is seeking the Democratic nomination in the 2016 election, Fiorina called Clinton highly intelligent and hardworking, but emphasized that she "clearly is not trustworthy," referring to the Benghazi attack, Clinton`s use of email while serving as secretary of state, and questions about donations to the Clinton Foundation.
