USPA News - French President Francois Hollande will visit Cuba in May, making him the first French head of state to do so while in office. A statement issued by Frances presidential palace is copied below.
STARTS COMMUNIQUE The President of the Republic will travel from 8 to 11 May to the French territorial communities of the West Indies as well as Cuba. He will preside on 9 May in Martinique a regional summit devoted to the preparation of the Paris conference on climate change and he will open on 10 May in Guadeloupe, the Memorial ACTe, the Caribbean center for expression and memory of the slave trade. The President of the Republic will visit Cuba on May 11, which will be the first visit of a French head of state to this country. ENDS.
