Main Street Cafe Review

Main Street Cafe

USPA NEWS - On a recent visit with friends, we discovered a new gem, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, the Main Street Cafe! Conveniently located on North Main Street, next to the Kroger Shopping Center, the Main Street Cafe gives a great selcection of New Orleans inspired dishes with a hint of Home Cooking. ENJOY!!
SHELBYVILLE, TENNESSEE-In my first review for the Shelbyville Free Press, I thought back on a few of the new dining choices that we have here in Shelbyville, and decided on the one where our Supper Club Group dined on Halloween Night of this year, Main Street Café.
The Main Street Café is located 910 N Main St, Shelbyville, TN 37160 “¢ (931) 639-1212, one half block north of Colloredo Blvd next to the Kangaroo Service Station. The small café is located in the former location of one of the numerous Mexican Restaurants that call Shelbyville home.
On our visit, we entered the restaurant to be greeted warmly on a very cold night. Our party of seven was seated at the large center table in the small café, which also features about 4 booth tables and two to three other tables for smaller parties. The Café itself is quite small, but roomy enough for larger groups.
Once seated and welcomed by our amazing server, we perused the menu. Main Street Café´s main selections are New Orleans´s inspired with subtle country undertones. Everything on the menu is prepared fresh in house, and let me tell you this, it will not disappoint. We started off with the Cajun Fries as an appetizer, and when it came, it was amazing. Fresh cut potatoes fried to perfection topped with cheeses, meats,
and so much more. My mouth waters just thinking about them.
Since we had such a large group, we all ordered something different and “shared“ the table, passing plate after plate. The Fried Catfish, was amazing. The Cheeseburgers are the best in town, hand patted patties cooked to perfection. The Main Street Café Po-Boy, which was piled with wonderful roast beef, gravy, and Cole Slaw was delicious, as was the Fried Shrimp Po-Boy, my all-time favorite sandwich choice when offered, and this one rivaled the best of New Orleans.
Others in our group tired the hamburger steak dinner and many more, all were to the same quality and flavor as everything else that we tried.
Between the great service, the amazing food, and cute atmosphere, I would highly recommend the Main Street Café to anyone looking for something new in Shelbyville! 5 Stars!!!

The Main Street Cafe is a MUST for anyone with a craving for good food and wonderful service. They can be found at 910 N Main St, Shelbyville, TN 37160 “¢ (931) 639-1212
