Eddie Owens Wins the 111th Running of the Oldest Trail Run in the US

111th Dipsea Race

June 12th marked the 111th running of the Dipsea Race
7.5 miles from Mill Valley to the Pacific Ocean, the Dipsea is the oldest trail run in the US
The race is handicapped with runners of all ages participating
By invitation only runners of all ages compete in this handicapped race
At the halfway point the run rises from Muir Woods to the aptly named Cardiac Hill
Former winner Diana Fitzpatrick passed Cardiac Hill in second place
2022 Championed hit Cardiac in 10th then passed all to his first place finish
This year's first female runner Carla Peterson
Cheered on at the top of Cardiac runners apprach the water station
Volunteers and medics await the runners at the top of one of several peaks on the course
Water and gatorade is welcome after the grueling climb
After Cardiac the ocean is in site on the way to Stinson Beach
